Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Die Entführung aus dem Serail, KV 384
For a few seasons now, René Jacobs has been revisiting Mozart’s operas. Once again accompanied by top musicians and soloists, he will launch himself into The Abduction from the Seraglio, undoubtedly one of Mozart’s best known and most popular works. This great work was composed based on a German libretto in the Singspiel style, half-spoken and half-sung. It tells the tale of Belmonte, a nobleman, who attempts to free his fiancée, Konstanze, who is being kept captive in the palace of the Turkish Pasha, Selim. René Jacobs offers you his version of this great work, written by a man who, at 25 years old, was already at the height of his powers!
