Every year, this is an exceptional experience: one of Johann Sebastian Bach's Passions, performed by the choir and orchestra of the Collegium Vocale Gent. This year Philippe Herreweghe has chosen the St John Passion, less exuberant and vivid than the St Matthew, but all the more profound and gripping for that.
