Eternal Energy. 1500 years of Indian Art, Kapila Vatsyayan, Ranesh Ray (curator) and Jan Van Alphen's (co-curator) exhibition, explores all aspects of India's cosmic energy. This fundamental energy - “Tejas” in Sanskrit - is to be found everywhere: in Indian mythology, philosophy, music, literature, and visual arts. It feeds into the great myths and the creation cycles. At the Centre for Fine Arts it will be felt in room after room, reconstituting its great narrative, in particular through the development of sculpture in bronze and stone, from the 2nd century BC to the 15th century AD. Experience the eternal energy of India in all its reincarnations: from representations of the meditative Jina Buddha to striking images of Shiva dancing.
