Näköuni / Vision Dream Visions from Finland Tuesday 12 > Sunday 17.12.2006
![]() The independent music scene in Finland brings together a wide variety of - mostly selftaught - artists. Spontaneity and collaboration are their watchwords.
While the records of artists like Kemialliset Ystävät, Islaja, Avarus, Es, and Lau Nau are known to more adventurous music-lovers here, other disciples of the "Do It Yourself" (aesth)ethic have remained undiscovered. For the first time, Näköuni / Vision Dream offers a synthesis of their many dimensions, which include a strong visual identity. The latter has found expression in a large number of graphic works. Musicians, draughtspeople, and videomakers, inspired by art brut and primitive art, these artists are, above all, all-purpose DIY enthusiasts. Näköuni / Vision Dream features an exhibition, live performances, film and video screenings. Concerts will take place in the context of the exhibition and will be accompanied by films, videos and visuals made by the musicians especially for the project. Opening of the exhibition on Tuesday 12-12-2006 from 6 to 9pm, free. Jonna Karanka (films & vidéos) Kuupuu (live) Avarus (live soundtrack on the film Fragments of a journey to Riga de Ville Piippo)
Production: BOZAR CINEMA | BOZAR EXPO | BOZAR MUSIC Supported by: The Finnish Cultural Institute for Benelux | Millefeuille |
