Vox Luminis vocal ensemble and orchestra – Lionel Meunier director

Jauchzet dem Herrn, alle Welt Johann Pachelbel
Magnificat Johann Kuhnau
Magnificat, BWV 243 Johann Sebastian Bach

The Belgian vocal and instrumental ensemble Vox Luminis mainly performs 16th, 17th and 18th century Italian and German works. This concert features Bach's Magnificat, one of the most famous choral works, which the Cantor completely revised, between the first version, performed on Christmas day in 1723 (its premiere in Leipzig), and the one he bequeathed to the next generations: richly textured, intense, joyful and exuberant.
