BOZAR and visit.brussels are bringing you a summer full of hip-hop. Originating in the streets of New York in the 1970s, hip-hop grew worldwide to become the dominant phenomenon in urban and youth culture. Successive generations of young people in Brussels have been a part of this diverse movement, enriching it in their own way. Hip-hop has continued to evolve through its four favourite forms: dance, graffiti, Djing and rap.

As part of  MIXITY.brussels 2017, a new exhibition provides an overview of 35 years of creativity in the capital. It not only highlights the major periods in the history of Brussels hip-hop but immerses the visitor in the hip-hop experience. In addition to archives and objects you will meet the people from the hip-hop world itself, through various workshops, performances, battles and meetings. An urban programme for the whole of Brussels, in association with youth and neighbourhood centres.
