De Vélo brings a heartwarming story from our severely tested capital Brussels with a colourful mix of people. This performance raises the spirits in scary times, like a bright light in the darkness.
De Vélo, known for appearing in the TV show Iedereen Beroemd, brings together the people of Brussels from all horizons. The homeless, refugees, teenage mothers, former drug addicts, new Belgians, almost Belgians, people with baggage and a label. They form a small, closely-knit chorus who sing and express their own fragile stories at the top of their voices.
C'est pas parce que tu t'arrêtes de pédaler, que ton vélo va s'arrêter brings together some 20 performers under the direction of actor/director/musician Hans Van Cauwenberghe, actress and musician Ciska Thomas and double bassist Otto Kint. Together they perform 15 heartbreaking and heartwarming songs.
