Improvisations on 18th-century forms Anthony Romaniuk
Unlike the achievements of the visual arts, musical works need to be revisited by performers at regular intervals in order to survive. The heritage bequeathed by major composers is therefore destined to be entrusted to musicians who invariably add their personal touch. This is the approach adopted by Anthony Romaniuk, the highly successful pianist born in Australia and now living in Belgium. His recital will feature time-honoured, eagerly reinterpreted works by Mozart, Mendelssohn and Brahms, along with improvisations during which he breaks free from the score's constraints.
