Profusely perspiring soloists, painful blunders and an exciting finale: Every year the Queen Elisabeth Competition brings tension and excitement to performers and audience alike. But the 2017 edition is set to make an even greater impression. For the first time in its history, the cello will be among the disciplines. Once the prizes have been awarded and the camera teams have left, the prize-winners will take to the stage alongside the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra (deFilharmonie) under the baton of its former chief conductor Muhai Tang. A rare opportunity to see top class cellists at work.
