Bart Lodewijks works in the public space with chalk. He draws on the street, on the walls of houses and in living rooms. The abstract drawings engage in a dialogue with the surrounding architecture and space. Afterwards, nothing remains of the work except for a few stories and some photographs. In 2015, the artist created some monumental drawings on the imposing rooftops of BOZAR and Cc Strombeek. All that remains now are Dirk Pauwels’ photographs. Printed in billboard format, they are a robust souvenir of an intense artistic intervention. Accompanying the billboard presentation is two postcards and a film by Griet Teck. The artist will create a mural on the wall of the exhibition space at BOZAR.
