A woman, a voice, a violin and a whole lot of pedals. That is all it takes for Maarja Nuut to entrance an audience. The Estonian music scene is one of the liveliest in Europe, and Maarja Nuut is one of its leading figures. In her own distinctive way this fiddler and singer mixes Estonian traditional music with live electronics to create soundscapes which you can softly sink into. Contemporary sounds with centuries-old roots. She compares her performance persona to that of a cat: poised but ready to jump. Her second album, Une Meeles, lies between dream and reality and was released in June 2016. Experience her live in our intimate Studio while you can, because her career is rapidly gathering international momentum, with prizes and concerts worldwide.
