It all began with a meeting between a man and a wild child, wandering alone on the Place du jeu de balle. While everybody else just went on their way regardless, he turned his attention to the little girl. Suddenly words such as host, father, administration, procedures and judge, previously as abstract as they were foreign to him, were filled with meaning.

Written by Céline Delbecq, author, director and founder in 2009 of La Bête Noire company, L'Enfant Sauvage is a poignant monologue that reminds us that, in Belgium, there are 4,000 children seeking host families. In addition to the humanity of this theatrical work as such, Céline Delbecq is hoping to find 200 host families thanks to the light this work sheds on a social problem that concerns us all.
