Mikail Aslan EnsembleErkan Ögur

The Turkish writer and composer Mikail Aslan founded his ensemble with Michael Weil and Dieter Schmalzried nearly 20 years ago. Guitar, drum, violin, cello and percussion accompany traditional songs performed in Turkish, Zaza, Kurdish and Farsi. The musicians have invited the famous Turkish virtuoso Erkan Oğur to join them for their Belgian show. Something of a one-man-band, he plays several stringed instruments, including the bağlama, hurdy-gurdy, cümbüş, lute and electric guitar. He has played around the world at jazz, traditional music and pop festivals and concerts. This will be a concert dedicated to the abundance of musical cultures from east of the Bosphorus.
