Evgeny Sviridov violin – Justin Taylor harpsichord

Suite en la, excerpts (Troisième livre de pièces de clavecin) Jean-Philippe Rameau
Sonata for violin and keyboard no. 4, BWV 1017 Johann Sebastian Bach

Justin Taylor, who was the subject of last season’s “portrait”, is an exceptionally gifted artist. The young Franco-American harpsichordist and fortepiano soloist is one of the most talented musicians of his generation, having previously won the International Competition Musica Antiqua in Bruges and the EUBO Developing Trust, as well as being nominated for a Victoire de la Musique in 2017 and winning several other prizes including a CHOC Classica and a Gramophone Editor’s Choice for his first album, La Famille Forqueray (Alpha). He will perform Bach’s sublime Sonata for violin and keyboard No. 4, for which he will be accompanied by Evgeny Sviridov. The young violinist who was introduced to historical informed practice by his parents, is really passionate about the Cantor’s music. We cannot think of any other musicians who would be more suited to perform Bach’s work than these two in other words.
