In 2003, the artist Jan Vanriet offered to his friend Hugo Claus, then hospitalized, a booklet and a pen. Claus made 109 amazing drawings, without text.
Flemish-Dutch House deBuren and BOZAR asked Paul Bogaert, Dean Bowen, Dominique De Groen and Marieke Lucas Rijneveld to write a poem as an answer to one of the drawings. The original booklet is on view in the Hugo Claus, Con amore exhibition. The literary visitor's guide features the newly written poems, available for free in the exhibition.
