Tister Ikomo was born in Kinshasa into a family of musicians, thanks to whom he learnt to dance and play percussion. When he was 10, he joined the Arumbaya ballet, where he leant to sing and eventually became assistant choreographer. In 2014, he collaborated with Alain Platel and Fabrizio Cassol on the show Coup Fatal, which went on to tour worldwide. More recently, he participated in the Rumba Lumumba project produced by BOZAR. He also gives traditional dance lessons and hopes to open his own dance school in Kinshasa one day.
