Tout un monde lointain..., cello concerto Henri Dutilleux
The Firebird Igor Stravinsky

Come and experience the incredible phenomenon of “symphonic cinema”, in which symphonic music is combined with the screening of The Firebird (2014), Dutch director Lucas van Woerkum’s first feature-length film. This film has no dialogue and is completely synchronised with the music from Stravinsky’s famous ballet composed in 1909 and 1910. By establishing a permanent interaction between the projected images and the orchestra, and updating the story of The Firebird through contemporary images and characters, the film-maker has accomplished a dual feat. This innovative concept of “symphonic cinema” has already won over audiences in major cinemas in Amsterdam, London and Beijing. The OPRL invites you along to the Belgian premiere!
