Gia Abrassart is an independent journalist and activist of decolonial culture. In September 2018, it opened the Tiers-Lieu artistique Café Congo where creations and resistance are honoured. Her blog Cafecongo.be also invites the public to rethink Belgian-Congolese relations from an artistic point of view. She published the book together with Sarah Demart ‘Créer en postcolonie 2010-2015. Voix et dissidences belgo-congolaises’ (Ed. BOZAR/Africalia, 2016). She co-founded the Collectif Warrior Poets Collective with Lise Vanderpiete in tribute to Audre Lorde's masterful work (line-up since 2012 : Sonia Sanchez, Aja Monet, Sista Fa, Poetic Pilgrimage, Lisette Lombe, Grada Kilomba, Obi Okigbo, Minna Salami, Hindi Zahra, Elisabeth Acevedo, Jacob V Joyce, Lahya Aukongo,...). As an entrepreneur, Gia has just launched her label Ginger G, a fresh homemade ginger elixir infused with lemon, spices & love. With these unique recipes, Gia creates signature cocktails, mocktails and lemonades from African products (hibiscus, ginger, baobab,...).  She is now also a member of the Bamko-Cran Women's Anti-Racist Committee and Mothers & Daughters.
