- 20:00

With 1,500 concerts to his name, Stephen Tharp is one of the world’s most prolific organists. The German newspaper Die Abendzeitung has praised his impressive technique, describing him as a “perfect virtuoso”. After his tenure as organist at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York, the American musician was appointed associate organist at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Manhattan. He is also well known for the quality of his organ transcriptions and his work with contemporary composers. At BOZAR, he will play on the monumental organ of the Henry Le Bœuf Hall for the first time, with a programme featuring a selection of works from the French organ school, music by Bach, and above all, an arrangement of the Scherzo from Beethoven’s Heroic Symphony!
