‘Queen Elisabeth pianocompetition 2021’

2020-2021

No audience
While we had initially hoped that audiences would be welcome in the Belgian concert halls in the month of May, to our regret we must announce that no tickets will be sold for the 2021 Piano Competition.

Broadcasts
However, we have made sure that our audience will not have to miss a note of the performances! As usual, the final will be entirely broadcast live on Canvas/Ketnet, Klara, La Trois and Musiq3. Thanks to our partner Proximus, the final performances will be live video streamed on www.queenelisabethcompetition.be, from Monday 24 to Saturday 29 May, at 8pm. During the live stream, you can make a free contribution, in order to support the young talented pianists taking part in this exceptional year. They have been preparing for this Competition for several years and have hardly had any opportunity to perform on stage during the past year. We are delighted to be able to offer them a stage at Bozar, which also grants them visibility at an international level.

More about the broadcasts

Adjustments due to the current sanitary restrictions
The number of finalists is limited to six instead of twelve. Hence, each night only one finalist will perform with the Belgian National Orchestra. In order to allow the orchestra to play while respecting the sanitary protocol, a proscenium has been added to the stage of the Salle Henry le Bœuf.

Programme book and CD box set of Piano 2021
You can now buy the programme book and discover the special offer for this year’s CD box set in the brand new web shop of the Queen Elisabeth Competition . Only one programme book will be edited for the entire session, so there will be no extra programme book for the final.

The Queen Elisabeth Competition wishes you a wonderful Piano Competition on the television, radio or the internet.
