‘FLY - Sidney Leoni’

24 Apr.'21
- 16:00

Livestream in the context of the Dance Day

The cinema-performance FLY reminds us of the legendary dancer Vaslav Nijinsky (ca. 1888-1950). Stage and screen create a storyline which wanders between fact, fiction and imaginary stories about Nijinsky's life and work.

Only excerpts of the performance will be broadcasted for this Dance Day Special.

Sidney Leoni is a choreographer, performer and film director-producer. He is dedicated to immersive theatre and cinema, which test the potential of sensory and imaginary perception among the audience. In his most recent work FLY he also reveals his own journey, his confrontations with artwork and artists which had a great influence on him: an intimate look at the fanciful world of the artist. In the process, he returns to the Paris of 1912, to Nijinsky and the Imperial Russian Ballet company, and to Freddie Mercury in London in the 90s.
