‘FILEM'ON: Young Audience Award 2021’

On Sunday April 25th 2021, Filem'On - International Film Festival for Young Audiences - is organising the "Young Audience Award" for the sixth time. Three films - nominated by the European Film Academy (EFA) - will be shown to young audiences from 36 European countries. This year's nominees are 'The Crossing', 'Wolfwalkers' and 'Pinocchio'. The films will be offered online between 22 and 24 April and on Sunday April, 25th, after an online film discussion, the winner will be announced!

Pinocchio by Matteo Garrone (IT/FR/UK, 125', 2019)

In this new imagining of the iconic classic beloved across the world, Matteo Garrone returns to the authentic roots of the Pinocchio story. With this groundbreaking live action film shot in stunning Italian locations, Garrone creates a rich fantasy world of mystery and wonder, filled with luminous, funny and touching moments.
 

The Crossing by Johanne Helgeland (NO, 96', 2020)

The Crossing tells the story of the adventurous 10-year-old Gerda and her brother Otto whose parents are in the Norwegian resistance movement during the Second World War. One day, their parents get arrested. Following this event, they discover two Jewish children hidden in a secret cupboard in their basement at home. It is now up to Gerda and Otto to finish what their parents started.

Wolfwalkers by Tomm Moore, Ross Stewart (IT/UK/LUX/FR, 103', 2020)

An apprentice hunter goes to Ireland with her father to help wipe out the last wolf pack. But she befriends a free-spirited girl from a tribe rumoured to transform into wolves.
