Wen Hui choreography, Performers – Wen Bin music – Wu Wenguang dramaturgy, video – Feng Dehua Performers

In a unique mix of street interviews, movement, video, and music, the choreographer Wen Hui creates taboo-shattering productions about everyday life in China. In Memory, which lasts eight hours, Wen Hui and actrice Feng Dehua return to their childhood. As a girl, Wen Hui put on a little play for her parents, with her bed as the stage and a mosquito net as the curtain. Forty years on, she has enlarged her mosquito net, bringing a whole era back to life, using, among other things, songs, family snaps, and intimate film footage from Wu Wenguang’s My Time in the Red Guards. In English and Chinese.
