Come and discover a whole range of artistic disciplines at our Watteau Family Day! We have something for all tastes: young, not-so-young, and old. The programme includes a vast fête galante in the Horta Hall, with a particular focus on nature, pleasure, and beautiful objects and in the presence of figures from the commedia dell'arte, with guitar-making and drawing-collages using recycled material. There will also be interactive workshops within the exhibition and a surprising music workshop. A day for families and a tribute to the musical character of Antoine Watteau's paintings.

Explore the musical world of one of the greatest French artists to your heart’s content with your Family Day Pass! A cornucopia of emotions, discoveries and sensations awaits you.

EXPOSITION ANTOINE WATTEAU
10.00 > 18.00 (continuous)

Discovery workshops (6+)
10:00 > 13:00 & 14:00 > 17:00
Or how to introduce small children to Watteau's paintings… A series of fun activities throughout the exhibition will help them to learn about his art, his visual language, and his love of fêtes galantes.

Music workshop (3+)
14:00 > 14:45
Or how to interpret music with just one instrument: your body, used as percussion. Clicking fingers, clapping hands, foot-stomping, and body-clapping all offer different ways of experiencing music and, why not, of actively preparing for the concert at 3 pm in the Henry Le Boeuf Hall.

Workshops in the Horta Hall (3+)
(continuous)
Or how to explore the rococo world of Watteau via a whole variety of activities. Our paper doll workshop, for example, in which you can dress paper dolls in your own way, or an instrument-making workshop, or one that is about being creative with paper and glue.

From school to the concert stage: choirs and orchestras in action (3+)
15:00
Or how to allow budding young musicians to express themselves alongside established artists. Thanks to the "From school to the concert stage" project, organised in cooperation with ReMuA, children are brought into contact with music in their schools. The idea is to help them to develop a passionate (new) interest, to understand how an orchestra works, and, finally, to give a concert onstage at the Henry Le Boeuf Hall.

Child care (>5)
(continuous)
Like to participate in some of our activities with your older children? Don't forget that you can leave your little ones in our crèche. Activity leaders will take care of them, so they too can enjoy our Watteau family day.
