Faust is the last of a series of four films by Alexander Sokurov about the corrupting effects of power. Sokurov's adaptation of the legend is loosely based on Goethe's play of the same name. Faust is a thinker, a rebel, and a pioneer. But he is also a man of flesh and blood, subject to impulses. Sokurov's Faust gradually becomes an intriguer who comes up with diabolical ideas.

The film will be preceded by an interview by Christophe Verbiest (in Russian with English translation)
