In recent years, there has been a rise in suspicion of Arab-Islamic culture in the West, so it's high time for a reflection and/or (self) criticism of Arab-Islamic thought. The picture at the top of this page from Jef Geys' Coloring Book for Adults (1966) says it all. Right in the middle of the Vietnam crisis, this Belgian artist drew a soldier who was fighting for all the countries; an artistic statement that has lost none of its relevance today.
