In addition to a Diapason d'or (2O19), the Belgian organist Bart Jacobs also received a Klara for his album of Bach's Organ Concerti with the ensemble Les Muffatti. Tonight he plays works by Buxtehude, Bach and Mendelssohn from the Brussels cathedral, where he is titular organist.

Brooklyn-based French cellist Leila Bordreuil mixes contemporary classical music with Noise and experimental influences. The result is a fascinating sonorous soundtrack, exploring the modern techniques of the cello. For this house concert, she collaborates with filmmaker Bayley Sweitzer for an audio-visual performance which draws from the artists’ ongoing investigation into value of air, specifically its value in New York’s corrupt real estate market.

When Rachel Podger fires up her violin, the most beautiful baroque sounds emerge. Whether she plays Bach, Vivaldi or Biber, each time she manages to evoke the right atmosphere. Since his victory at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2013, Boris Giltburg has become one of the most important pianists on the international scene. He has a passion for Rachmaninov and recently recorded the complete Preludes for piano solo: sublime pieces with colourful characters that will undoubtedly be at the centre of this BOZAR at home concert.
