From July 20 till August 31, the world-famous festival for music and drama Salzburger Festspiele will take place for the 99th time.

During the 46 days of the festival, 199 events with plenty of new creations are planned. The programme includes Philippe Herreweghe with the Collegium Vocale Gent and the Orchestre des Champs-Élysées, amongst others. Intendant Markus Hinterhäusen chose the mythology of the antiques as the theme of this edition.

Against the backdrop of the Festspiele, the Austrian industrial federation (Vereinigung der Österreichischen Industrie) is organising the first Salzburg Summit from 25 to 28 July. At this summit, important leaders and exceptional international personalities will be entering in discussion with a high-quality audience about the key themes of our time. Based on their expertise, the speakers will provide exclusive insights into a wide range of trends (business, politics, science and culture) that they believe are crucial for the economy and society and for our digital future.

Paul Dujardin, CEO and Artistic Director of BOZAR, has been invited as a speaker on July 27 and will give a lecture on the topic "Towards a new renaissance: Art & technology in posthuman times".
