Launch of a vinyl record with unique recordings of jazz icon Thelonious Monk in the Center for Fine Arts in 1963.

In 1963 the American jazz pianist and composer Thelonious Monk toured Europe together with Charlie Rouse on saxophone, John Ore on double bass and Frankie Dunlop on drums. On March 10, 1963 they performed at Center for Fine Arts in Brussels and the BRT/RTB made a live recording of this concert, which includes a solo performance of the classic 'Just a Gigolo'.

The label Tidal Waves Music will release the first limited edition of these recordings on vinyl worldwide on April 18, International Record Store Day. BOZAR, VRT and the Tidal Waves Music label worked closely together to preserve this piece of music history for the future and the Thelonious Monk Estate gave its permission. The cover is based on the original poster announcing the concert. A reproduction of this poster is added to the vinyl edition.
