Music takes time. Music marks time. And time marks music. Composers contribute to writing bits of history. Because they are embedded in their time or because - depending on thezeitgeist - they give voice to traces of change or preach revolution. At the same time, music surpasses the specific then and there with every new interpretation. What does change sound like?  Once the smoke of battle has cleared, once the statues of dictators have been torn down, what we are left with above all are culture, music and hope.
