‘Bozar Next Generation: Beniamino Paganini - Belgian Music Press Union award’

3 Oct.'21
- 11:00

Festive baroque music at the court of Anhalt-Zerbst, music by J.F. Fasch, G.-P. Telemann and J.S. Bach

Every year, the Belgian Music Press Union honours a young musician of the year during a Bozar Next Generation matinée. After Sylvia Huang and Emma Posman, it’s now the turn of harpsichordist and traverso player Beniamino Paganini to receive the prestigious Caecilia Prize from the jury. To celebrate this achievement, this multi-talented young musician, holder of multiple diplomas (harpsichord, traverso, maestro di cembalo, musicology) and player in famous ensembles (il gardellino, Scherzi Musicali, B’Rock, La Petite Bande), will come to Bozar at the head of his Musica Gloria ensemble, which he co-directs with oboist Nele Vertommen. Together, they will take you to the court of Anhalt-Zerbst (a principality north of Leipzig), which echoes to the works of the choirmaster Johann Friedrich Fasch and his contemporaries Georg-Philip Telemann and Johann Sebastian Bach.
