‘Duo Alalaké’

- 15:30

The alchemy that arises from this intimate duo formed by Bissau-Guinean kora player Mbady Diabate – descendant of two generations of griots and founder of the group Les Aigles du Mandingue – and Gabonese bassist and oud player Abd-Chakûr Boussougou is breathtaking, so much so that they manage to bring down the strict rhythmic and harmonic barriers of traditional music. They do not hesitate to divert the instruments from their classical use and to consider the voice as an instrument in its own right to offer a warm, poetic music, somewhere between jazz, African music and oriental music.
