‘Michael Barenboim & West-Eastern Divan Ensemble’

The conductors of the famous Arab-Israeli orchestra, founded by Daniel Barenboim, know each other inside out. Under the leadership of the maestro’s son, Michael Barenboim, the musicians continue their commitment to peace through their chamber music ensemble – a group that demands even greater unity and commitment from each performer. At Bozar, the West-Eastern Divan Ensemble presents a programme that varies in its range and musical languages: Schubert’s classical composition for accompanied violin, the dense and lyrical patterns of Brahms, a piece by Boulez for solo violin that portrays all the facets of the instrument, and finally, a string octet by Attahir, written especially for the West-Eastern Divan Ensemble.
