‘Ambrose Akinmusire featuring Brussels Jazz Orchestra’

Ambrose Akinmusire is one of a new generation of leading young jazz trumpetists. At the age of nineteen he joined saxophonist Steve Colman. In 2007 he was the winner of the Thelonious Monk Award, one of the world’s most prestigious jazz awards. In the last ten years, Akinmusire, multiple winner of the DownBeat Critics Poll, has developed a solid international career. In 2008, he released his fourth studio album Origami Harvest. Like his previous projects, this is an album full of challenging, adventurous and musically surprising jazz. At BOZAR, Akinmusire takes to the stage with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra for a performance which promises to deliver fireworks.
