‘Book launch: Yves Zurstrassen, Free’

In the context of the Yves Zurstrassen. Free exhibition, Mercatorfonds now presents in BOZAR the eponymous book looking back at this Belgian abstract artist’s past ten years. The essays examine the artist’s creative process and present a critical analysis of his work, which takes inspiration from the work of Abstract Expressionists such as Pollock, Willem de Kooning a.o.. Of course, jazz – the faithful kindred spirit of the artist and his oeuvre – is also discussed. 
Book presentation introduced by Bernard Steyaert (Mercatorfonds), followed by adiscussion between Olivier Kaeppelin (exhibition curator) and Yves Zurstrassen.
