Despite the enormous risks, Australian blind motorcyclist Ben Felten (51) is determined to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a professional motorbike racer. Together with former Grand Prix champion Kevin Magee, he wants to break the world speed record and become the fastest blind motorcyclist in the world. On their journey, Ben and Kevin cross paths with Jed (13), who is struggling to find his way in life.

Eva Küpper graduated from KASK Ghent with What's in a Name (2009), a creative documentary portrait of the New York body artist Jon Cory, which earned her the Prize for the Best Student Documentary at the IDFA. She collaborated with many authors, among them Thomas Wallner, Fien Troch and Sahim Omar Kalifa on different film projects. Dark Rider is her last full-length documentary, the result of 5 years work. She has been teaching audio-visual production techniques at the Ghent University and she has been on the board of deAuteurs since 2014.
