Imaginary Mirror renews and broadens the repertoire for trumpet and percussion with seven new composition commissions and an new arrangement of the enigmatic Spiegel im Spiegel in collaboration with the composer Arvo Pärt himself.
For this project, ART’uur (a duo consisting of Wim Van Hasselt and Koen Plaetinck) collaborates with video artists, composers, visual artists, fashion designers, photographers, stage directors, software developpers, actors, dancers and even with clock builders. The public can participate in the performance using the new digital platform ‘Interactive Concert Experience’. A mutual interaction via smartphones create a new form of communication in which both the public as a whole and each person individually has a direct influence on the concert.
The strength of Imaginary Mirror lies in the collaboration of different art disciplines. The music and the visuals form a coherent and indivisable whole in which images strengthen the music and music strengthens the images.
