Work
Three films about working populations. In Ein Arbeiterclub in Sheffield, Nester depicts the daily life of workers in Sheffield; a tender and yet precise portrait. In Fos-sur-Mer, he meets French and foreign workers living in a town near Marseilles, which has undergone massive industrialisation since the 1960s. Väntan uses photographs, contemporary documents and music by Schönberg and Webern to examine a mining accident that killed dozens in a village in Lower Silesia in 1930, one of the many “disasters of industrial rationalisation”.
