Fascism

Three films on Nazism and its channels of propaganda. Von Griechenland portrays Greece just before the 1967 military coup, amidst ongoing fascism and anti-fascism tensions in the aftermath of war, and the chaotic pursuit of genuine freedom. Nester films the Greek people with sensitivity and respect. Spanien! introduces us to the International Brigade volunteers, who fought with Republicans during the Spanish civil war. Die Hohlmenschen is based on the eponymous short story by Polish-Israeli writer Etgar Keret, and the music of Alban Berg. Similar to a traumatic childhood memory, the film combines the director’s drawings and allegorical messages.
