Belgian National Orchestra

‘Viennese New Year’

10 Jan.'21
- 15:00

The Swiss conductor Stefan Blunier, who for many years has been chief conductor in Bonn,  Beethoven's birthplace, and since 2010 also guest conductor of the Belgian National Orchestra, begins the new year with a thoroughly Viennese programme. In addition to overtures, waltzes, polkas and marches by Johann Strauss Jr., there will also be works by other Austrian composers such as Erich Korngold and Robert Stolz. As a special treat, the Belgian National Orchestra will be performing the colourful orchestral music of Richard Strauss’ opera Der Rosenkavalier.
