‘Fennesz & Jim O’Rourke’

One of the fascinating projects that our portrait artist Fennesz will be presenting this season is a reunion with his ‘partner in crime’ Jim O’Rourke. The two guitarists and composers have been working together since the late 90s under the band name Fenn O’Berg, with Peter Rehberg as the third musketeer. Their motto? Improvisational computer music for all, all for improvisational computer music. In 2016 a new merger between Fennesz and Jim O’Rourke followed: on It’s Hard For Me To Say I’m Sorry, O’Rourke’s gargling harmonies swim among the glitter of Fennesz’ plucked guitar. At Bozar, the two giants of experimental music will take their previous collabs as a reference point to create a completely new set that redefines the genre.
