From Bach to Busoni

Igor Levit has a close partnership with BOZAR. After treating us to the complete Beethoven sonatas in 2016-2018, the German-Russian pianist offers us a journey throughout the ages, with Bach as point of departure. Schumann, Liszt and Busoni: all three were raised on the cantor’s music and paid tribute to him in music. As an intrepid pianist, Igor Levit is not afraid of a challenge, not even if it involves performing Parsifal on the piano! He has thus given Liszt’s arrangement its orchestral dimension and Wagner’s music its characteristic brilliance, and on the Steinway that he himself chose for BOZAR nonetheless!
