‘Jonathan Fournel - 1st Laureate Queen Elisabeth Competition 2021 - Piano’

In keeping with tradition, Bozar plays host to the winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition for a more relaxing piano recital in the very place where they claimed the coveted prize: the Henry Le Bœuf Hall.

For many a music fan or member of the jury, it was clear from the first few notes that the French pianist, Jonathan Fournel, would carry off First Prize in the Queen Elisabeth Competition for Piano 2021. In his interpretation of Brahms’ Second Piano Concerto, he succeeded in achieving the perfect balance between rationality and emotion. And now, he returns to the Palace, where his musicality can once again come to the fore, albeit in the presence of an enthusiastic Bozar audience.
