‘Graindelavoix’

What can art and music still mean in times of disasters and crisis? Graindelavoix consulted Pieter Bruegel, who painted grisaille works in the 1960s in response to political problems, and Antoine Brumel, who composed a twelve-part earthquake mass. On the ruins of the past, Graindelavoix places Brumel's composition in a contemporary light with images from Luigi di Gianni's 1967 neorealist documentary Il Culto delle Pietre. Graindelavoix's colourful voices take on the challenge of turning it into a sound grisaille à la Bruegel...
