Bozar Next Generation
After welcoming the first laureate of the prestigious Frédéric Chopin Competition in Warsaw last year, we are now giving the stage to the laureate of the International Chopin Competition on Historical Instruments. The jury of this competition is looking for authentic interpretations on historical instruments and chose Canadian pianist Eric Guo as the winner. During this concert, he will make a historical instrument from Paul McNulty's collection sound as it did in Chopin's time. The programme is devoted entirely to Chopin's music. Besides the characteristic dances such as the mazurka and the polonaise, the programme also includes the composer's impressive second piano sonata.
Polonaise-fantasy, op. 61
Barcarolle, op. 60
3 Mazurkas, op. 59
Piano Sonata no. 2, op. 35
