Concert Croissant #11
The French cellist Adèle Viret will transport you to the universe of her compositions inspired by a range of musical aesthetic forms. The young musician received classical training in Montreuil and Brussels and soon made a name for herself at venues for improvised music, jazz and world music. She grew up with the music of her father, the composer and jazz bassist Jean-Philippe Viret, and developed a feeling for improvisation and composition as a child. In 2024, she released her enchanting pieces on Close to the Water, her first album, which she recorded at Lézards Inouïs with the Adèle Viret Quartet (Oscar Viret - trumpet, Wajdi Riahi - piano, Pierre Hurty - drums), the winner of the Euroradio Jazz Competition 2024. The young musician already shares the stage with big names such as Magic Malik, B.C. Manjunath, Isabel Sörling, Amir ElSaffar and the trio Aka Moon. At Bozar, Adèle Viret will form a new duo with the famous accordionist João Barradas, whom we are looking forward to seeing again.
