‘AKA MOON PLAYS BEETHOVEN: OPUS 111 (Live)’

With a unique, recognisable sound that reveals new harmonies and takes adventurous rhythmic paths, Aka Moon is one of the most remarkable groups on the Belgian jazz scene. In their latest project, the trio is inspired by the radical rhythmic character of Beethoven’s final piano sonata. A perfect project for them, as they have demonstrated in the past their affinity with classical music through projects based on Monteverdi and Bach. Together with Fredy Massamba, old companion Fabian Fiorini and rising star João Barradas they liberate Beethoven’s mythical sonata from its classical constraints and immerse it in jazz.
