Music & dance
The flamenco festival Cinco Días at Bozar kicks off with four ensembles that introduce you to the many rhythms and meanings of flamenco. Without following any particular chronology, they tell the story of a genre that has always been a melting pot of times, genres and visions. The guitarist Pedro Barragán and soprano Mariví Blasco seek out the common ground between flamenco and the Baroque. Then Alfredo Lagos and Dani de Morón shake the chandeliers from the ceiling with blazing guitarwork. In the performance En Talleres, the percussionist Antonio Moreno and dancer Leonor Leal step into a room full of everyday items waiting for a hand to reach out and bring them back to life. Finally, the pianist Pepe Fernández and dancer Paula Comitre combine tradition with the avant-garde in their electrifying flamenco show.
