Anochecer en la Puerta de Tannhüser

Anochecer en la Puerta de Tannhüser brings three dancers together, each of whom breaks flamenco open in their own way through contemporary dance. Luz Arcas, Patricia Caballero and Laila Tafur dance beyond the conventions: their work is powerful, sensual and radically personal. Tafur’s Maja y Bastarda is an appropriation of dances that are not particularly serious, sober or pure. Dances dismissed by others as trivial gain new meaning here. Caballero weaves bodies, voices and taut strings into rites of passage that explore purity and impurity, elevation and sanitisation. And Arcas, with the legendary singer Inés Bacán and sound designer Xabier Erkizia is possessed by voices and sounds in Morphine (Lullaby for Emmy Hennings).
