Mahler 3
During his first series of concerts as chief conductor of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra (ASO), Marc Albrecht makes a major statement. Together with Opera Ballet Flanders’ adult and youth choirs, he performs Mahler’s Symphony No. 3, a monumental masterpiece that begins with the tragic chaos of creation and ends with God’s eternal light. Along the way, Mahler explores the profound questions surrounding the destiny of humankind and the primal forces of nature – themes that are also close to Albrecht’s heart. With this performance, he invites the audience to fully immerse themselves in this monumental work.
